“That seems sort of harmless but then it kind of gets a little darker and sort of accuses these young pop artists of being part of this cycle where girls read magazines, feel terrible about themselves ‘cause its says “you should be skinnier, you should be prettier”. They feel terrible, and then these pop stars tell them that they’re perfect and that they’re beautiful and they buy the songs and then the popstar’s on the cover of the magazine so they buy a magazine again and it’s sort of this vicious cycle and I sort of implied he’s working for Satan or whatever.

Ginny’s treatment of Ron, during the kissing scene with Dean. This really infuriated me. Yes, I agree that Ginny had to defend herself. But there are other ways to defend yourself that don’t involve being cruel. To say that Ron was “inexperienced” in front of his (male) friend is horrible to do to a teenage boy. Unfortunately, in our society boys seem to judge their worth against their sexual prowess — Ron most especially.

PRIME EXAMPLE OF HOW FANDOM PUTS THE FEELINGS OF MALES OVER THE RIGHTS AND FEELINGS OF FEMALES

Ron (as much I like him he can be a douche sometimes) came dangerously close to calling Ginny a slut. In fact, Ginny quickly cut him off just as he was about to say it.

BUT LO AND BEHOLD, THIS DOESN’T MATTER BECAUSE GINNY, IN THE PROCESS OF DEFENDING HERSELF, HURTRON’S FEELINGS.

Ginny suddenly becomes the villain here, and Ron the victim.

Woe! It is horrible to call a male “inexperienced” in front of his best friend!!!!!1 But not horriblethat he call a girl, his sister no less, a “slut”. His accusation stems from seeing her kissing her own boyfriend in an empty corridor in post-match euphoria. His hypocritical self then later immediately goes and makes outvery publicly with his new girlfriend all over the schoolduring the next few weeks. But Ginny is the slut. Ginny is the horrible person for retaliating to Ron. Ginny hurt Ron’s man pride and that is just not on.

FUCK OFFFFFFFFF with your misogyny and double-standards honestly. Nobody’s got time for that.

masculinity is the most fragile thing in both the wizard and muggle universe

NOBODY HURTS MY POOR WON WON

WHO WILL SAVE THE WIZARD BOYS AND THEIR FRAGILE EGOS

no no no no no

dont hate on lavender brown man

seriously you react to someone burning someone for hating on a female character for her choices in romance by going ooohhh lavender browwn.

fuck that.

Lavender Brown joined the DA in her fifth year.

Lavender Brown brought Professor trelawney daffodils after she was sacked by Umbridge because she had a great deal of respect and cared about the woman’s wellbeing.

The whole way her storyline was treated in HBP was totally filtered through by what Hermoine and Ron thought of her and she becomes the “clingy” girlfriend who cares more about Ron then he cares about her. And SHE ended the relationship once she realized that Ron didn’t feel the same way.

Lavender Brown actively combated the death eaters that took over hogwarts during their seventh year, at great personal risk to herself and her family. She was a pureblood, she and her family would have likely been safe under voldemort’s regime but she stood by her friends.

She fought in the battle of Hogwarts and was killed by Fenrir Greyback.

Lavender Brown was best friends with Parvati Patil. Lavender Brown loved divination and unicorns. Lavender Brown was killed long before her time.

Don’t break her character down to Ron’s clingy girlfriend.

‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens

DONE. THE ONION NAILED.

It really did. I live in a country where gun regulations are pretty strict, and getting a license to carry a fire weapon is long, expensive and a pain in the ass. My dad actually looked into it, and he was so put off, he just got a fake one that makes noise. I don’t know anyone who owns a proper fire arm, and you can’t actually get guns.
If anyone is interested, I could do a longer post about it.
Long story short, there are barely any shootings. There was one in my city some months ago… I think. But here it’s more common to hear about people getting stabbed. But with that method, there’s only one or two deaths, and it’s usually premeditated.
I actually can’t recall any massive shootings, meaning that it has more than two-three victims.

I love the Pushing Daisies universe because it’s this beautiful little bright world where people live in windmills and keep bees and everyone’s jobs are things like lighthouse keeping, illusionists, and scratch-and-sniff book authors. But it’s teeming with cold-blooded murder.
